The Power of Habits

The Power of Habits

COVID-19 has done so much damage to the world – mentally, physically and emotionally. While we focus on all of the devastation left in the wake of the pandemic, we sometimes miss the hidden gems that have been uncovered.

You may be think that I’ve lost my mind. How could something so destructive uncover or leave behind anything positive?

Days of struggle unleash growth, wisdom and strength that we would otherwise be unaware of for a start. But more importantly – it has been a time to examine the ‘snag list’ of our lives. Where are the areas that need some attention?

For many of us – the evidence was glaringly obvious. We work too hard, spend too much and care too little – all the while believing that at some point we will somehow arrive at destination happiness.

COVID-19 definitely didn’t make us change our destination, but it certainly has made us recalculate our route.

Consistency, routine and discipline went missing in action – leaving us very aware of their value. The uncertainty brought with each new day left us feeling anxiety-ridden.

If there is one lesson we don’t want to miss out on – let it be this one:
We shouldn’t change our destination just because the route became bumpy. Rather we should become flexible and adapt to new pathways – never taking our eyes off the prize. Growth happens on the journey, not at the destination.

Stay Safe
